Owner of Ghana's premier league side Medeama FC, Moses Parker, says he had to go to the US for a medical check-up because his jaw was injured from a blow landed by suspended Black Stars midfielder Sulley Muntari.
Physical exchanges between the AC Milan enforcer and Ghana's management member capped Ghana's disastrous World Cup campaign littered with player indiscipline, managerial and government's incompetence.
Appearing before a World Cup Commission set up to investigate Ghana's controversial appearance in Brazil, Moses Parker said he was utterly shocked by Muntari's unprovoked lunge at him.
According to him, the players had met with management members to discuss delays in the payment of the appearance fees owed the players.
He said he only appealed to the players to be patient and assured them that their appearance fees would be paid.
That intervention appeared to have angered Muntari who then surged forward and attacked him.
He said he was first slapped by Muntari who followed up with a hefty punch. He said he blocked a third blow from Muntari and decided, as a matter of self defence, to respond.
His hefty response knocked Muntari to the ground, he testified.
While he admitted that his blow was perhaps heavier, Parker said Muntari's second was a jaw breaker.
"Sulley's blow affected my jaw," he said, adding that he had to go for a check-up in the US.
He told the Commission that Sulley's father called him days after the incident to apologise on Sulley's behalf.
Sulley Muntari was handed an indefinite suspension from the team.
Left to Parker alone, he would love to have Sulley Muntari back in the team because he is a "good player" but he added the management of the GFA is yet to take a decision.
