Mr Benjamin Asare Buotu, Director of Afrijet Airlines, has observed that the collapse of some state-owned African airlines, including Ghana Airways, is due to lack of accountability.
He said private airlines often performed well because their owners
insisted on good practices and accountability, since they could not bear to have their investments go down the drain.
Mr Buotu said this when he talked to journalists at the Kotoka International Airport on Thursday about the operations of Afrijet Airlines, the latest airline on the Accra-Lagos route.
He said, although a number of airlines already flew the route, Afrijet
was bound to stand out by virtue of the unique package it had for travellers.
Mr Buotu mentioned punctuality, moderate airfares as well as courteous attitude to passengers and customers as some key features of the Airline.
The Airline operates with an MD83 aircraft with 16 first class seats and 146 economy seats, with each seat having an individual video screen.
It departs Accra everyday of the week apart from Saturdays.
