Brewery giant, Guinness Ghana Breweries Ltd has been adjudged the overall Best Industrial Company for 2014 at the 3rd Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) awards held over the weekend.
The company was also declared the best company in the beverage sector.
Speaking to Joy Business, Director of Corporate Affairs at Guinness Ghana, Preba Greenstreet said it was encouraging to know that the AGI has noticed what the company has done even though they have had a very challenging year.
She said though their results might have not been the best, they are encouraged with the award to give out their best in order to satisfy their customers.
In all, 22 industries were awarded for distinguishing themselves in various sectors, while two firms were given special hounors.
Toyota Ghana was awarded Best in Automotive and Transport Sector, Fidelity Bank topped the Financial Services Sector (banking category), GOIL was adjudged the best firm in the Oil and Gas Sector, while SCANCOM won best company in the Information, Communication and Technology Sector.
Other awardees included Unilever Ghana Ltd as the Best Corporate Social Responsibility Company of the year and OLAM for Fastest Growing Company in Ghana, 2014.
