The Chief Executive Officer for Tigo, Roshi Motman has cut the sod for the construction of a 360 kilometre overhead fibre project to improve network quality between the Western and Ashanti regions.
Speaking at the ceremony in Bogoso in the Prestea-Huni Valley district of the Western region, Roshi Motman explained the project will put an end to network interruptions due to frequent fibre cuts from on-going road construction works and the activities of illegal miners in both regions.
She emphasized that network quality was fundamental to customer satisfaction and loyalty, and Tigo was making several investments to build a reliable and resilient network.
The Chief Operations Officer for Tigo, Obafemi Banigbe, explained that the project when completed in March 2015, would greatly improve Customer and User experience and increase Tigo’s coverage footprints in both the Ashanti and Western regions.
He mentioned some of the other investments Tigo was making to improve network quality across the country as expanding their microwave backbone between Accra and Takoradi and Kumasi and Accra.
The Chief of Bogoso Kokoase, Nana Kwesi Sompreh, thanked Tigo for making the needed investments to boost up network quality in the town and its environs.
He said communication has the potential of opening Bogoso up for more development activities including small-scale enterprises and trading activities.
