Activa International Insurance Company Ghana Limited has engaged an International Risk Survey firm to undertake underwriting and pre-loss surveys for some of their corporate commercial clients in Ghana.
The risk surveys which stretched across the 10 geographical regions of Ghana was aimed at identifying physical risks that could expose clients to the perils of fire, flood, earthquake etc. and to propose risk management measures to:
- Eliminate or reduce the presence of possible physical hazards that could lead to losses occurring and/or
- Reduce the impact of losses should they occur
- Optimise the cost of insurance premiums through risk improvement.
The survey also concentrated on risk exposures of business interruption and recommendations on how to completely avoid such losses or reduce the possible occurrence of such risks.
Deputy Managing Director of Activa International Insurance Company, Mr. Solomon Lartey remarked, “risk surveys of this nature are directed towards improving loss prevention and general risk improvement in order to attain higher levels of insurable and non-insurable protection against Fire risks, flood and earthquake exposures, mechanical exposures, Waste Management and Storage Management risks among others; and their resulting consequential losses."
The two-week survey which spanned the 10 regions of Ghana was conducted by Mr. Antonin Amani, Managing Director of Asteris Risk Consulting Services, a Switzerland and Ivory Coast based loss adjustment and engineering insurance underwriting company”.
