Toyota Ghana Ltd has been adjudged as the most valuable business brand for the year 2014.
The automobile company picked up the coveted award at the Brand Excellence Awards organised by Premier Brands Ghana, a brand research agency.
Five other companies -Melcom, Daily Graphich, TV3 Network, Vodafone and Total Petroleum Ghana were named in the top six most valuable brands.
Three other brands including Kimo Home, Ostec I.T and Wire Weaving Industries Ghana Limited emerged as Top Brands in their categories.
Sasso Insecticide Spray, The Royal Bank, Surfline Communications, Global Access Savings & Loans, Africa Financial Business (AFB) Ghana, Anointed Electrical & Engineering, TECNO Mobile and Joy Herbal Centre, were awarded Top Emerging Brands for improving their presence and relevance significantly in competition in recent times.

There were special awards such as The Best Brand Custodian 2014 which went to Mr. Kenneth Ashigbey, Managing Director of Graphic Communications Group; The Fastest Growing Brand also went to Sasso Insecticide Spray, The Most Promising Brand went to TECNO Mobile, and The Best Managed Brand was awarded to Vodafone Ghana.
Another significant and very important award went to Glico Group of Companies as the only insurance brand in Ghana to feature in the Top 40 Ranked most valuable business brands for 2014.
The Chief Executive Officer of Premier Brands Ghana Mr. Eric Affaidu, in his welcome address told officials in corporate Ghana not to consider branding as an expensive exercise but as a valuable investment which always pays off in the future.
The keynote speaker for the occasion, Mr. Sylvester Phish, a Brand Expert and a Marine Engineer tasked businesses to put up positive and consistent attitudes that work for their brands and enhance the delivery of the brand promise.
