A member of President John Mahama’s legal team in the 2012 election petition case, George Tetteh Wayoe is demanding payment for his services during the hearing.
The young lawyer, who claims to be part of the media team led by Nana Ato Dadzie and Alex Segbefia, said, he is finding it difficult to make ends meet.
“For the past two years life has been unbearable; I cannot take care of my old mother and young kids because I gave the monies to taxi drivers” he lamented.
Ras Wayo, as he also called, once represented Ghana at the Big Brother Africa reality show.
He said he joined the President's team in February 2013 and spent a total amount of GH¢62,000 as a result of commuting in taxi cabs to visit media houses daily, particularly Multi TV and TV3, to explain the defendants' case during the petition hearing.
He wondered why all the lawyers involved in the defence including Tsatsu Tsikata, Nana Ato Dadzie and Tony Lithur have been 'rewarded' except him.
Ras Wayo’s appeal to President Mahama is to buy him a car or reimburse part of the GH¢ 62,000 he spent to champion his cause.
“I’m not telling the President to make me a Minister after the election petition; I'm just asking for a car” he stated.
