NPP flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo has argued that if JB Danquah, a key figure in Ghana’s liberation movement were alive today, he would campaign for the removal of the NDC government because the poor level of governance that existed then, still exists today.
Speaking at a memorial lecture to commemorate 50 years since the passing of the pro-independence leader, Nana Akufo-Addo quoted Joseph Boakye Danquah’s observation of the governance during the independence era.
“Up and down the country the picture is dismal everywhere. What this means is that, that dismal form of administration must come to an end”, Nana Akufo-Addo quoted JB Danquah.
He said this same situation exists today, mentioning corruption and fiscal indiscipline as the bane of Ghana’s economy.

As critical a writer as Danquah was, the three-time NPP flagbearer was certain beyond a doubt that “if Danquah were alive today, President Mahama would be receiving letters or emails all the time…and so will the Minister of Finance.”
