Christians have been advised to eschew laziness and embrace hard work to improve their socio-economic conditions.
Reverend Stephen Osei Sarpong, Chairman of the Sekyere Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana gave the advice when he addressed a section of the congregation at the Beposo Calvary Presbyterian Church as part of a familiarisation tour of the Nsuta District on Wednesday.
He said it would be illusive for Christians to pray to God to make them prosper if they did not roll up their sleeves and put their hands on the wheel.
Rev. Sarpong said Christians could only prosper when they were imbued with the spirit of hard work and always moved towards achievable goals whiles also trusting God for His divine assistance in all their endeavours.
“In this fast changing world, we must anticipate problems which would attempt to saddle us in life’s aspirations, but as Christians we must remain focused and undaunted.”
Rev. Sarpong said the Scripture frowned upon laziness ant that it extolled the virtues of hard work exemplified by God Himself who worked for six days and rested only for one day.
He toured all the churches in the Pastoral District during the visit.
