Dancehall artiste Shatta Wale claims he once advised rapper Sarkodie to grow his brand by singing.
According to him, the artiste just like any other Ghanaian rapper needed something apart from his core genre to commercialise his music.
Speaking in an interview on Onua FM he said, “people don't want to hear how stylish you are.
"Yes you have the talent and it comes first but after that can you really make it a business or a commercial type of thing so you can make money out of it?”
Shatta Wale said that it was nice to see Sarkodie take his advice and sing in ‘Saara’.
“You'll sing because that is the business, that is what people want to hear,” the 'Borjor' hitmaker added.
According to him, he made similar changes when he made his comeback in the industry.
He stated that his team advised him to blend other styles with his dancehall to suit the market.
