The Vice Chancellor of the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) says their students won’t be assessed online like other universities are doing.
Prof. John Gyapong, speaking to JoyNews’ ‘Beyond the Lockdown’ said the nature of the courses they run does not allow online assessment.
He said they conduct regular multiple choice type exams and other but the most critical part of an assessment for a medical student, for instance, is what he or she can do when presented with a patient.
Such tests, he said, cannot be conducted online.
Prof. Gyapong said they are, however, engaging the students with lecture notes and online interactions as the university observes restrictions imposed by President Akufo-Addo in a bid to curb the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.
