A group of young men and women calling themselves new Juaben youth worldwide have presented over GH¢30,000 worth of Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) to three health facilities in the Eastern Regional capital town of Koforidua.
The items were to support the staff of the Eastern Regional Hospital, the St Joseph Hospital and the SDA Hospital in the fight against the spread of the novel coronavirus in the Eastern Region.

The items include 1,500 locally manufactured face masks, 100 gallons of liquid soaps, 40 pieces of face shield, 120 hand sanitizers, 4 infrared thermometers, 40 boxes of disposable hair caps and 40 sterile gloves.
Making the presentation on behalf of his colleagues, the Nsawam parish priest of the Catholic Church, Rev Father Dwumoh said the gesture was to motivate the staff of the Hospital to work hard in their efforts in the fight against the spread of Covid-19.

He explained that the nature of the virus requires the support of philanthropists in the fight against the pandemic.
Receiving the items on behalf of the hospital, Deputy Director of Nursing Services, Philomina Mireku thanked the group for the support.

She said the items had come at the right time to help ease the pressure on the little facilities that the hospital had.
Mrs Mireku pledged to ensure that the items donated were used for the intended purpose.
At the St Joseph hospital, the Medical Director, Dr David Kupualor appealed to the citizenry to limit social contacts, though it was not the normal practice of Ghanaians adding, the world is not in normal times.
