The Republic Bank Ghana Limited has a donation of Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) to the Tamale Teaching Hospital.
This forms part of its contribution to government's effort in curbing the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic in the Northern Region.
The items which included gloves, gumboot, face shield, hair covers, shoe covers, N95 face mask, disposable face mask among others are estimated to cost ¢10,250.

Currently, the Tamale Teaching Hospital serves as the major Covid-19 treatment center for the Northern region with three patients on admission.
Presenting the items to the management of the hospital, cluster Manager of the Republic Bank, Abdul Fatawu Haruna said this is a contribution from management and staff of the bank through its volunteerism program.
He said through personal donations, supports are generated for such social interventions.
“As part of our staff volunteerism program, the staff put together some resources to get these few items to come and support this hospital in its fight against Covid-19.”

He added that as residents in the region, they deem it a duty to also contribute their quarter to the fight against the Covid-19 which is ravaging the world and spreading to all the regions in Ghana.
Receiving the items on behalf of the Tamale Teaching Hospital, Director of Medical Affairs Dr. Adams Abass said the donation is welcoming as the hospital is in dire need of some items.
“I didn’t want to disclose it, but we were just short of gloves and waiting for this donation.
"We actually went looking for gloves but the supplier said the Republic Bank had come to clear all their consignment because they are making a donation to the TTH so we were actually waiting for this donation,” he said.

Dr. Abass said gloves expected to be delivered from Kumasi has also delayed, leaving the hospital stranded.
He said the gloves would be distributed to the various units in need as soon as the donation ceremony is over.
“This donation is timely. It will not stay here. Immediately you leave, we are sending it to the right places," Dr. Abass said.
The Director of Medical Affairs thanked the Republic Bank for the effort noting that they have been partners for a long time.
