Final year students and staff of Wa Senior High School have had the opportunity of registering for the new voter's register when registration officials of the electoral commission came to the school.
Registrants sat two metres apart from each other as the registration exercise took place on the verandah of the over 40-year-old school assembly hall on July 10, 2020.
Some registrants had been at the centre earlier, but the registration started three hours late.
Presiding official of the registration centre Domanaa Dominic told JoyNews’ Upper West Region correspondent, Rafiq Salam that they were not told earlier about where to do the exercise and thus explained why they were almost three hours late.
However, registrants were happy to have had their names finally on the register and would be able to take part in the 2020 polls.
One of the registrants, Youyi Niru, a final year student of the Wa SHS was the first to register for the card.
He took 12 minutes to complete his registration.
He described the registration exercise as simple and one that will give many of his colleagues the opportunity to register without going through any difficulty.
The registration officials are expected to spend a day at the Wa SHS before moving to the St. Louis Senior High School on Saturday for the same exercise.
