Ghanaian attacker Kevin-Prince Boateng has given an emotional farewell to fans ahead of his exit from Turkish giants Besiktas.
The 33-year-old signed a six-month loan deal with the Super Lig side in January 2020. The club extended the agreement to August 3 following the break in football caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
He reportedly had a clause entered into his contract for a possible long-term extension but the management of the Turkish side opted against triggering the option.
"I would like to say a very big thank you to the large BeÅŸiktaÅŸ family. I will really miss you at all times," Boateng posted on Twitter.
The former Barcelona star will miss the team’s final league game after picking up an injury during a 2-0 win over Fenerbache.
The player will return to Fiorentina, his parent club and put an effort into impressing his old teammates following a torrid early spell with La Viola.
Boateng scored three goals in 11 games for Besiktas.
