President Akufo-Addo has urged electorates of the Shai Osudoku constituency to vote massively for the New Patriotic Party in the upcoming election.
According to him, although residents have been voting for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), social intervention policies introduced by his government has brought more development to the area.
“People of Shai Osudoku constituency it looks like you haven’t sat on the back of the 'elephant' before, you are always under the umbrella. But this umbrella is currently broken, it's full of holes so I am pleading with you that, this year, looking at the works the ‘elephant can do, you should all come and sit behind the 'elephant',” he said.
Speaking to residents when he visited the Dodowa Infectious Disease Treatment Centre as part of his three-day tour in the Greater Accra Region on Thursday, President Akufo-Addo said the Covid-19 pandemic has highlighted the gaps in our health system.
Thus, it was necessary for his administration to undertake the Agenda 111 where all districts in the country will have at least one hospital to make health facilities accessible for citizens.
“It is part of this, that we have established the Dodowa Infectious Disease Treatment Centre to help strengthen our health system, and I am happy that you people have readily accepted it,” he said.
“I am grateful to you all for the advice and support you have given to me and my government. This has encouraged me to stick to the path that we are still on,” he said.
On his part, the Medical Superintendent for Shai Osudoku, Dr Kennedy Brightson expressed gratitude to the government for the project saying it will go a long way to lessen the health needs of the constituents.
