The North East Regional Office of the Electoral Commission has dispatched voting materials for the 2020 general election to various districts in the region.
The voting materials which had been kept at the regional police armory were handed over to district directors in the presence of representatives of the various political parties and members of the European Union election observation mission.
Regional Director of the Electoral Commission, Gabriel Manu, while explaining the process, which took place at the Regional Police headquarters said the Electoral Commission is going to conduct an open and transparent election on December 7.
"We are saying it over and over again, we will run a transparent and credible elections, we have nothing to hide, at the end of the day we want peace in the country," he stated.
The Regional Police Commander, DCOP Kwadwo Antwi Tabi, disclosed the security agencies were going to ensure a special protection of all voting materials before and during the election.
He also urged security agencies to be professional in their dealings with the various stakeholders of the election.
