The Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) is calling on landlords to return to the previous agreement with their respective tenants on the payment of water bills before the government absorbed the cost.
This is because December 31 will mark the end of the government’s directive to serve Ghanaians water for free as which was part of the measures to curb the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Public Relations Officer of the GWCL, Stanley Martey said that their customers will be responsible for the payment effective January 2021.
The company further gave out directives that will take place when the grace period is over.
As part of the directives, water vendors are required to resume their normal business after the last meter reading in December 2020.
The company expressed its appreciation to all agencies who supported the free water delivery initiative most especially to the Government for their kind gesture to Ghanaians.
