The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) of Ghana has held its maiden edition of 9 Lessons and Carols night and it turned out a fun filled event.
The program, which was held 2 days before Christmas day saw almost all the staff members from all DVLA branches in Accra assemble under one roof to merry, whilst giving thanks to God for surviving 2020 despite its traumas.
Board Chairman for DVLA Ghana, Frank Davies expressed his excitement on how successful the event had been and elaborated on why the 9 lessons and carols rather than the normal annual staff durbar.
“The advent of Christmas is a joyous occasion and we need to give thanks unto the Lord that we have all met gradually coming to the end of the year so there is the need to give praise and thanks to the Lord and instead of the usual funfair, I decided that we should commit today into the special hands of God, have a coral night and be deepened in scripture”.
Chief Executive Officer of DVLA, Kwasi Agyeman Busia could not hide but express his enjoyment witnessing the turn out of the maiden edition of the 9 lessons and carols. He revealed that he was going to make it an annual tradition if he is still the CEO come the years ahead of him.
Performing were the DVLA choir and the Tema Youth choir, who thrilled the staff members to coral songs amidst the reading of the 9 lessons by some selected staff.
The event was held at the headquarters of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority in Cantonment.
