Speaking at the event in Tamale, the Chief Sales Officer at AirtelTigo, Abubakari Halidu said the gesture forms part of its Corporate Social Responsibility program.
“Christmas is the season of love, harmony, and celebration. As most of us are fortunate to be able to celebrate as we choose, those less fortunate are not able to celebrate this joyous occasion,” he said.
He added that: “As a reputable telecommunication company with a heart for its customers and the plight of the less fortunate. We hope our donation will impact the home’s operations and children’s lives positively.”
He also applauded the management of the home for their hard work, commitment and taking good care of the children. The items donated included bags of rice, sugar, beans, cartons of milo, milk, boxes of biscuits & oats, among others.
Receiving the items, the manageress for the Tamale Children’s Home, Janet Boahemaa Ansu thanked AirtelTigo for bringing joy to the children, adding that the donation will go a long way to brighten the lives of the children this Christmas.
