Police in the Northern Region have hinted they are on a manhunt for suspects who assaulted three teachers at Nyohini.
The move follows a complaint by the education directorate in the area.
Speaking to JoyNews, Northern Regional Crime Officer, Supt. Bernard Baba Ananga said officers are on the ground to identify the individuals who beat up the teachers.
“We trying to identify those people and then ask him (the headteacher) to assist us and also get members of the community as well.”
According to Supt. Baba Ananga, the headteacher reported he attacked in his office on Thursday, January 28, 2021.
He said the perpetrator “continued beating him till other people came around to rescue him, and they also received some beatings.”
Teachers in the Tamale metropolis have since refused to teach until the culprits are brought to book.
