Majority Leader Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu has justified the delay in the appointment of Deputy Ministers nominated by President Akufo-Addo.
He explained that the appointment has to be made in consultation with the ministers.
According to the Suame Member of Parliament, appointees' names will be made public when the ministers are done working on their budget estimates for their respective ministries.
This comes in the wake of demands by the Minority that the President puts out names of Deputy Ministers-designate for Parliamentary consideration.
Speaking on the floor of the House on Wednesday, legislator for the Banda constituency, Ahmed Ibrahim argued that they do not want a situation where they will "adjourn next week and go only to be recalled that we will be are coming to vet deputy ministers."
"The business committee is meeting tomorrow morning. Mr Speaker, so that we can take all those things into consideration."
But in a sharp response, the Majority Leader cautioned the MP against assuming the role of the President. He explained that the Banda MP "is not in the position to share the authority of nominating deputy ministers."
He, however, assured the house that the names of the deputy ministerial nominees would be released in due time.
"Certainly at an officious time, the names will certainly come," he added.
Meanwhile, the Appointments Committee is set to vet the Finance Minister-designate today.
