Award-winning American gospel singer Jason Nelson says he doesn’t believe there’s any sin in taking the Covid-19 vaccine.
Speaking on Joy FM’s daily devotion program, 'Joy Time in His Presence' on Thursday, he lamented how the COVID-19 pandemic affected his ministry.
“The impact of coronavirus on our church has been tremendous. We’ve gone virtual for over a year and we’re yet to start in-person church service,” he said.
Explaining his experience about taking the second shot of the vaccine, the pastor of 'The Tab' in Windsor Mill, Maryland, was quick to add that "I don't subscribe to the school of thought that taking the jab is evil.”
“None of those things are true. I do believe that if you are a person of faith, there’s nothing wrong with taking the vaccine. I also believe that as a person of faith, if you don’t feel like you should take the vaccine, I don’t think it’s going to harm you in any way”, he added.
Mr Nelson said because he has taken the vaccine, he spent a lot of time doing research and trying to find the origins of the vaccine and things of that nature.
He said he also heard things like "it's the mark of the beast" and "It affects your DNA" but going deep into all the research he has done and read about, none of those things is true.
The American gospel musician reiterated that he and his wife have taken the vaccine but he doesn't believe that there is a sin in taking the vaccine and also doesn't believe that God is angry with us if we take the vaccine.
Jason Nelson of 'I am' fame, has released his first single in three years, 'Residue' and he’s planning to release a full album later this year in September.
