As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility, accounting firm, KPMG Ghana has renovated and handed over a classroom block to the authorities of Abelenkpe ‘1’ Primary and KG School.
Speaking to Joy Business on the sidelines of the handing over ceremony, Senior Partner at KPMG, Anthony K. Sarpong said the project which is valued at GH150, 000 will provide a better and safe environment for the kids to learn.
“We [KPMG] have taken education as one of our corporate social responsibilities and I think it is very important because this is the beginning of learning for our children who are the next generation. And therefore if we give them a better and safe environment that can encourage their learning, then we are contributing to a better future for them as individuals, their family and the community. So the structure that you see here cost us about GH150, 000,” he noted.
Also, Mr. Sarpong indicated that KPMG will work hand in hand with government and other corporate organizations to provide an all-inclusive development for underdeveloped communities.
“For us as KPMG, we believe that we need to stand shoulder to shoulder with the government and partner with all agencies that seek development and work together. Therefore my call on other corporate bodies and individuals is that, if you can help, in your own small way, you should be able to do that. So let’s all compliment the government in building infrastructure to improve the lives of individuals who need help,” he added.
Anthony K. Sarpong further promised that KPMG will in the coming months, will provide a computer laboratory and other essential amenities for the school.
