A man believed to be in his late 30's has been found dead at Kasoa Komotey inside Okrudu River in the Awutu Senya East Municipality of the Central Region.
Some residents said they woke up on Friday morning to find the lifeless body inside the river.
In an interview with Adom News, some of the residents called on the authorities to come to their aid as robbers are making life difficult for them.
They said they don't know if the deceased was killed by criminals and dumped in the river or committed suicide.
Meanwhile, Assemblymember for Kasoa Komotey Electoral area, Muhammed Kwabena Ali, said he will communicate with the Assembly and get streetlights for the residents around that area and reduce the crime rate in the area.
The Awutu Senya East Municipal NADMO Director, Kwame Amoah, noted that the body may have been there for over three days.
He appealed to Ghanaians to report such matters to authorities on time.
