Tuesday, July 6, to Friday, July 9, marked another eventful week in the life of Ghana’s Parliament.
Members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) marched to the Parliament House to present a petition demanding an end to brutalities by security agencies.
An agreement was laid on the Floor for MPs to take a $28 million car loan which they will pay back 40% of, whilst government absorbs the rest of the 60%.
The house was briefed by Defence Minister Dominic Nitiwul on punishments that have been meted out to soldiers who brutalised some residents in Wa. Â
Interior Minister Ambrose Derry briefed MPs on how Fire Service personnel in the Eastern Region went to a fire scene in a taxi.
Not forgetting the approval of the Minority’s motion for a bipartisan parliamentary probe chaired by Effutu MP Alexander Afenyo Markins to investigate government contracts to purchase Sputnik V vaccines from Russia.
