Residents of Fumso in the Adansi Asokwa District of the Ashanti Region are living in fear, with some fleeing the community as strange crocodiles have invaded the place.
The invasion, according to some residents, is a result of the anger of the river gods in the area.
The entire Fumso community was thrown into a state of shock when residents woke up to the presence of the two huge crocodiles in the area. The strange reptiles were seen roaming the town.
In an interview, the residents expressed worry about the situation, saying they were scared to go out of their homes for fear of being attacked.
According to the residents, “this is the first time we are seeing strange things like these and we believe the crocodiles are coming from the Fum river, a river near the community.
“Those who are not afraid have been able to get closer while others threatened to kill the crocodiles. But the residents are afraid the crocodiles were sent by the stream,” they explained while giving some spiritual connotations.
Meanwhile, the Fumso Traditional Council has poured libation to appeal to the Fum river to forgive residents of the community if they have done something against the stream.
Mynewsgh further reports that after the libation and other rituals, the two crocodiles returned into the Fum river.
