The Airport District Police Command in Kumasi have arrested a 19-year-old man for illegal possession of firearms.
Mumuni Salisu was arrested at Sabon Zongo near Alabar in Kumasi with the foreign pistol and live ammunition concealed on him.
Police officers on patrol duties spotted the suspect in the vicinity, accosted him and conducted a search on him.
The team found a foreign pistol and live ammunitions concealed on him at about 5 am on Monday, August 23, 2021.
The suspect was arrested and handed over to the ‘B’ District Command (Zongo) with the exhibits.
Airport District Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Benjamin Kwadwo Gyasi, confirmed the arrest but will not give further details.
