Member of Parliament for Okaikwei Central Constituency, Patrick Yaw Boamah wants player selection into the Black Stars to be investigated by football authorities.
The 47-year-old believes the approach of the Ghana Football Association in selecting players for the Black Stars is not prudent.
Ghana Football Association boss, Kurt Okraku, a few months ago, indicated to Joy FM that national team call-ups will not be left only in the hands of the head coach and therefore will go through scrutiny.
This has mounted pressure on the 51-year-old with reports claiming players affiliated to him are being handed call-ups irrespective of their qualities.
"Now, you must have a godfather to be invited into the national team no matter how talented you are," Yaw Boamah claimed.
"That is why we need an inquiry into the selection process into our national teams. Why was Kudus absent from the national team? He chose to join Ajax in Portugal to prepare for the upcoming Champions League. Why was Jeffrey Schlupp absent? Why is Tariq Lamptey refusing to play for our national team? Why was Salisu Mohammed absent? There is a problem with player selection and that ought to be investigated by the managers of our football," he suggested.
The FA is in search of a head coach in the interim for the FIFA World Cup playoff doubleheader against Nigeria in March following the sacking of Serbian gaffer, Milovan Rajevac over a disastrous Africa Cup of Nations campaign.
