The Council of the Ghana Communication Technology University (GCTU) has appointed Professor Robert Ebo Hinson as the next Pro-Vice Chancellor of the University.
The appointment takes effect from May 1, 2022, and is for a three-year term.
GCTU is a progressive Public University and the Act establishing the University notes that the University aims at providing a viable centre for higher education in information and communication technology.
In accepting the offer, Professor Hinson expressed deep delight at joining a Public University that has embedded in its Act, lofty aims like providing global consultancy services to both the private and public sectors, fostering university-industry linkages, promoting basic and applied research, and creating an entrepreneurial environment that will support innovation and product incubation development.
Professor Robert Ebo Hinson has held several higher education administrative roles in East and West African Universities.
He has acted as Vice-Chancellor, Rector, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Director of Institutional Advancement, Head of a Residential Hall, and Head of an Academic Department.
Professor Hinson is a married family man and a Christian.
