Ghanaian gospel artiste Perez Musik has opened up on his struggle with depression.
Speaking to Joy FM’s Drive time show host Lexis bill, the 'Blema Tessa' hit-maker, revealed that at some point in his life he was depressed, “I battled with depression at some point, I didn’t really put a time to it but it was a whole period,” he disclosed.
He gave details of the lessons learnt from his experience, underscoring what God told him during that difficult period of his life.
“I believe it was the voice of God kind of, telling me that… my boy you’re moving too fast and you need to slow down cause you make decisions, you make wrong decisions, you make a lot of mistakes that is going to cost you in the future”, he related to Lexis.
Perez Musik has been on a steady rise since his introduction to the music industry. His next move is the ‘Glorified Concert’, which he has described as a channel of connection between him and the public, especially the youth. “I want to try to put the brand out there, put the music out there, and connect with the people who know my music [but not the face]…”.
A young passionate Perez Muzik revealed his intentions of aiding his peers who need to be educated on the abstinence of certain vices, with an initiative called ‘TRIM’ which is an acronym for ‘The Rhema in Motion’. The project, according to him, would require a partnership with successful figures in society to serve as inspirations to the youth.
“I would be glad to partner people like you, Lexis Bill, Bola Ray, people in the industry, not just entertainment but other industries … who are really making it, put them together, and let’s go on a roadshow. Let's give these children some form of inspiration,” he reckoned.
Perez Muzik looks forward to treating patrons of the ‘Glorified Concert’ on the 28th August, at the Victory Bible Church International, Awoshie. He expressed gratitude to Joy Entertainment, media partners of the event.
