Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the McDan Group of Companies, Daniel McKorley, has prompted the youth to be ready for opportunities as they emerge.
Speaking at a conference dubbed, 'McDan Youth Connect - Impacting Youth Development with Entrepreneurship', he noted that "where preparedness meets opportunity, success is inevitable.”
"At times, when we get the opportunities we are not ready but as a young man who is angry for success, you have to be ready so that when the opportunity comes, you will be able to grab it and run with it. So always keep at the back of your mind that where preparedness meets opportunity, success is inevitable," he said at the event held at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.
The entrepreneur thus urged the youth to be prepared for opportunities that may come their way.
Mr McKorley revealed that his company was able to create 20 businesses the previous season and is ready to help with more this season.
"The last season, we were able to build 20 businesses. Some of them are doing so well. It is not about the money to support you but every time, it’s the person behind the business.”
"If McDan donates a million dollar to an idiot, what do you think? The idiot cannot do anything with the money but if McDan gives a hundred thousand dollars to a smart, aggressive, young business man, or business woman, tell me what that hundred thousand will turn into?"
