After four weeks of excitement in the Mini Series of the Joy FM Family Pop Quiz, it is finally coming to a close. In its penultimate edition, 13-year old Jessica excelled and was crowned winner of the day.
On Sunday, October 30, Jessica Esinam Tay – Azumah won the contest with 36 points after exhibiting the depth of her knowledge and intelligence in four different subject areas; English Language, Mathematics, Social Studies and Integrated Science.

Her closest competition came from 1st runner up, David Ahorkonu, who scored 31 points. Nanette Nettey and Khenesani Arthur-Dowuona both scored 30 and 25 points respectively to end the quiz, hosted by Edem Knight-Tay.
13-year old Jessica joins winners, Karen Amponsah and Ekua Boa Enchill, who ended the fiercely-contested maiden edition in a tie. Completing the list for the grande finale, are Addai Akosah Brimpong and Ayeyi Ofoe - Collins, both winners from the second and third editions respectively. All five finalists worked hard in tackling the same set of questions in their respective episodes, within the same period of time.
As the clash of the champions approaches, listeners look forward to a sterling performance from all five finalists who are vying for the ultimate reward. The finalists, will for the last time, exhibit brainpower and live up to the title of a ‘winner’ in the grande finale of the Joy FM Family Pop Quiz Mini-Series, on Sunday November 6. Jessica, Karen, Ekua, Akosah and Ayeyi will be expected to answer carefully selected questions in English Language, Mathematics, Social Studies and Integrated Science.
Who emerges the ultimate winner? Who flies to Dubai in an all-expense paid educational and fun round trip to Singapore? A thrilling list of activities awaits the victor; an adventurous visit to Disney, a robotics workshop, gala dinner with children from other countries, the Young Achievers Leadership Academy (YALA) Camp 2022, amongst others. The trip is scheduled for the first week in December.
The grande finale of the Mini-Series promises to dish out loads of other prizes and surprises. It will be broadcast on Joy 99.7 FM and streamed live on Joy FM Facebook page, on Sunday, November 6, from 3pm to 4pm. The Joy FM Family Pop-Quiz Mini-Series is sponsored by the Ghana Olympiad Academy.
