Christmas in Tema has already started. Activities kicked off on Thursday November 17, 2022 with the grand launch of Tema Fiesta and the MP Connect App at the all-new 4-star Alisa Hotel in Tema.
The city has over the years celebrated Christmas in its own fashion and style with a plethora of parties and other activities organized by various groups and organizations.
Under the leadership of Hon. Yves Hanson-Nortey, Member of Parliament (MP) for Tema Central however, all activities will see a facelift and better organization with the special Christmas Day Celebrations now strategically placed under the mother brand called “Tema Fiesta!”

Activities planned for Christmas in Tema 2022 will commence from December 3 to December 30 with a total of about 10 unique events.
“The broader vision is to fill each day with at least one event. With one event each day in the future, if we are able to invite 100,000 people to attend and each spends even just Ghs10.0, that sums up to a million Ghana Cedis, and with it running through for 30 days, that could give the municipal some 30 million Ghana Cedis which I believe Tema Municipal Assembly (TMA) would be very happy to get such revenue from our events”, Hon. Hanson-Nortey excitedly declared.

Winner of Miss Malaika 2019, Phylis Vesta Boison was unveiled as the Ambassador for Tema Annual Fiesta.
Supported by the Ghana Tourism Development Company (GTDC) Limited; its representative, Lauretta Kuadey indicated that the outfit in its quest to rally behind the MP joined the project to help Tema regain its authority in Ghana’s creative space.
“We believe Tema Fiesta is the means to leverage the potentials of the municipal to become the center of Ghana and the world and as well, bring Tema back to its glory,” she affirmed.
The evening also saw the launch of the MP Connect App. A dream project for Hon. Hanson-Nortey designed to bridge the gap and create an easy and quicker access between his office and members of his constituency.
Addressing constituents, dignitaries and the media at the launch, the MP said,
“But as the world evolves, so must we evolve hence, this brilliant idea of developing MP Connect to make interactions between my office and the constituents easy and convenient,”
The app is designed to offer all services that the physical MP’s office provides and to some extent, give quicker responses to complaints, enquiries, and requests.
The app also has an event page where constituents can create and invite other constituents to their events including details about birthday celebrations, outdooring, graduations, matriculations, product launches, trade and expo shows, conferences and more.

Developed by AO Holdings, the MP Connect App is currently available for downloads from the Google Playstore only. IOS users will have to wait for a little while as the team works round the clock to get it ready for Apple.
Activities for Christmas in Tema kick off on December 3 with the annual Tema Black Art Street Festival and runs through till December 30 with the Miss Centre of the World Beauty Pageant.

Other activities to look forward to are, Tema Benz Party, Hon. Nii Noi Football Tournament, the Tema Nine Lessons and Carols, the Tema Health Walk, the Afro Max Seminar and the Tema Masquerade festival now rebranded as the all-new Tema Fiesta!
