Organisers of the Wizkid Live concert have dismissed claims by the Nigerian artiste there were security threats at the event on Sunday hence his failure to make an appearance.
In a new press statement released on Tuesday, Live Hub stated that they provided the ‘Essence’ hitmaker and his team 15 bodyguards.
They explained that the guards were selected from experienced security institutions and companies including Ghana Police Service, National Cadet Corps, National Security and others.
Live Hib noted that four of those guards were specifically assigned to Wizkid and the 11 to his team.
For the patrons, Live Hub stated that they hired about 304 security personnel for the show and abided by all international standard security checks including providing medical tents, fire tender, ambulances and others.
This comes after Wizkid, who was expected to perform at the concert at the Accra Sports Stadium, on Saturday, 10th December 2022, failed to show up.
This disappointed most of his fans that purchased tickets and showed up at the event.
Wizkid on Sunday cited production and security issues as reasons for his absence and apologised to his fans.
Meanwhile, Live Nation said they did everything in their power to ensure Wizkid showed up to perform.
Aside from providing maximum security, they stated that Wizkid was paid in full before the concert as per their agreement.
They added that they also took care of his other expenses including hotel fees, private jet flights, security, vehicles and additional offsite accommodation.
