Member of Parliament for the Bosomtwe Constituency, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, has stated that the completion of the Kumasi-Bosomtwe dual carriage road will help to attract people and significantly boost tourism in the district.

The area, which previously had many poor roads, is now one of the constituencies in the Ashanti Region with good roads.

Due to the poor nature of roads, tourists from both within and outside the country had been discouraged from visiting Lake Bosomtwe in large numbers over the years.

But speaking to the media, Dr. Adutwum said the construction is a huge relief for his constituents since it will help to stimulate other economic activities in the area.

"The road is being widened, it's a dual- carriage road all the way from Kumasi to Lake Bosomtwe, this is a dream come through for us. Tourism is going to get great boost because now people can have access to this important resource for tourism which is Lake Bosomtwe, so obviously it is a happy moment for us," he indicated.

The Legislator stated that several calls were made to successive governments to fix the road, but it took President Akufo-Addo to listen.

He stated that the project is being completed by Kofi Job Construction Limited in order to meet the deadline.

He stated that because the road is being widened, some buildings will be affected; therefore, the assembly members should collaborate closely with the chiefs and the DCE to ensure that the demolition process goes smoothly.

The Ghana Highway Authority's Resident Engineer, Isaac Adu-Amoah Gyamfi, stated that the project is being worked on steadily and that it will be completed by December 2024.

He stated that, unlike other projects, the Bosomtwe road will be completed within the specified time frame with no abandonment due to the level of preparation.
