The Director of Operations for the campaign team of Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, a presidential aspirant in the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) 2028 elections, has called on other hopefuls and their supporters to remain decorous and conduct clean, healthy campaigns.
Alfred Ofori Annye said, “We expect that the other presidential hopefuls of our great party will learn from the examples of Dr Adutwum and base their campaigns on what they can do differently for the NPP to win the election 2028”.
Speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) on Thursday, Mr. Annye, also the former Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Produce Buying Company (PBC) Limited said Dr Adutwum was expected to submit his nomination forms at the NPP’s headquarters today, August 28, 2025.
Mr Annye stated that, “as the various presidential aspirants seek the mandate of the NPP delegates in the party’s primaries set for January 31, 2026, we expect them and their followers to learn a cue from Dr Adutwum and remain decorous, instead of engaging in unhealthy campaigns.”
Mr Annye insisted that among all the presidential aspirants, Dr Adutwum, the former Minister of Education and Member of Parliament (MP) for Bosomtwe in the Ashanti Region, remained the favourite and the best choice, if the NPP could regain political power in the Election 2028.
“Political campaigns provide opportunities for candidates to market themselves and ideas, but not a platform to dirty ourselves. Doing so will make our great NPP unpopular in the eyes of discerning minds and thereby narrow our electoral fortunes in 2028,” he said.
“That is why our campaign has remained resolute, only to market the potential of Dr Adutwum to the NPP delegates for him to win the presidential primaries and subsequently lead our great party to electoral victory Election 2028,” Mr. Annye added.
