Tokyo-based Ghanaian entrepreneur, Opoku Oppong Kwabena popularly known as Kobe, has opened up about his relationship with renowned world boxer, Floyd Mayweather Jr.
A few years ago, Mayweather was seen having a good time in Kobe’s club in Japan.
Speaking on E Vibes with Becky, Kobe says he has known Mayweather for a long time.
“Floyd is a friend. We talk, we facetime and all of that. Everything happened organically. We have known each other for a long time. He comes to my club”
Kobe also reacted to a viral video of him and Mayweather Jnr counting lots of money as they paid for items whiles shopping.
“When Floyd posted that video, a lot of people were asking why he was not paying electronically. Tokyo is one of the most expensive and organized cities in the world so they obviously accept credit cards but sometimes when you are shopping, it depends on your mood. You can choose to pay with a credit card or cash. It was random and wasn't planned. We were just paying and it was the last minute when we saw the PA taking the video. We didn't know she was taking a video,” he added.
Kobe joined his father, Frank Anthony Amanfo in Japan some 15 years ago, and now they are business partners in the popular lounge and dining bar, R2 Supperclub, located in Roppongi, Tokyo.
The E-Vibes show strives to evoke memories through the setting of the interview and their rise, the memories they made on their way to the top with the hope that their unique stories will help shape the younger generation.
It is different from your regular day-to-day interviews. This show is carefully designed to provide some quality time with selected personalities.
