Qatari giants, Al Sadd, has announced an agreement has been reached with Ghana captain, Andre Ayew, to terminate the player's contract with five months left on his two-year deal.
The record Qatar champions announced the decision on Sunday afternoon via a social media statement.
“Al-Sadd SC has reached an agreement with Andre Ayew to terminate his contract with the club by mutual consent,” the club said on Twitter.
No explanation has been given for the decision, though there are rumours it could pave the way for a move to rivals Al Rayyan.
The 33-year-old midfielder leaves the Gulf club less than two years after joining as a free agent in July 2021. He won the Qatar Stars League in his debut season.
Andre Ayew has featured in 8 league games for Al Sadd this season, scoring 3 goals.
Overall, the former Swansea City attacker played about 38 games for the 16-time Qatar champions and scored about 22 times.
