The University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) says its innovation and incubation hub will propel students to be creative and help create more jobs for the youth.
According to the Dean of Students, Professor Justice Bawole, the initiative will foster entrepreneurship and small business development during critical levels for start-ups.
Speaking to Joy Business at the launch of the UGBS Innovation and Incubation hub, Professor Bawole said the move is to help young graduates acquire soft skills and to a larger extent aid in the fight against unemployment in Ghana.
“In our part of the world employment has become a problem. The numbers are so scary and these young ones go out there in search for jobs which we know doesn’t really work out so by having this hub it will help these students to be innovative and pitch good ideas.”
“We will continue to support our students and the university at large in its quest to be a world class University” He said
The role of the UGBS incubation and innovation hub is to develop new growth opportunities for the incubator's parent company (IPC) by enabling the development of small teams capable of operating in a more flexible and unbureaucratic environment, which certainly increases the pace of their actions.
The University of Ghana Business School is asking industries to support this initiative to bridge the unemployment gap in the country
