'Visions of Nkrumah staring at me', 'Spinning in circles, living life without rehearsal,' are a few of the musically inspired words that underpin the recent works of Ghanaian design studio, Ripe Organic and its commitment to making a cultural impact in the rap community.

Created in 2018 as just 'ripe' by a post-graduate dropout of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), founder and Creative Director, Godfred Afrifa Antwi (afri5a) was hit by a design meteor out of nowhere.
Godfred, since his epiphany during the last few months of his undergraduate studies as a Medical Herbalist and has not looked back.
Over the years, ripe organic has collaborated with artists like Ko-Jo Cue on his 'For My Brothers' anniversary merchandise, KooKusi on his '5foot 3' merch and Braabenk, a member of the Asakaa collective.

The design studio also worked on the album cover and packaging Of Ko-Jo Cue’s 21 Memory Lane EP.
Ripe organic released its first collection, HARVEST SEASON I in January.
On account of the Creative Director, most of the design inspiration came from visualizing rap lyrics, the prime source of inspiration for him. The collection was released with a playlist, wild fruit vol. 1 attached.

“That’s a compilation of songs I was bumping at the time. Lining up the first 3 songs was a eureka moment for me,” he told Myjoyonline.com.
The collection’s colour palette is largely sourced from watermelon and has since been an integral part of the imagery for this collection.
