The fourth edition of Sinapi Aba’s Women Mentorship programme has been launched to economically empower women in Ghana.
The Sinapi Aba mentorship programme is an SME business development initiative that seeks to transform female entrepreneurs with a 6-month intensive free business peer-coaching
.
According to Sinapi Aba, the project is aimed to improve livelihoods.
Though the mentorship programme focuses on improving female entrepreneurial abilities, nine male entrepreneurs benefited from the training.
The Chief Programmes Officer of Sinapi Aba, Mrs. Joyce Owusu-Dabo, emphasized the need for women to observe productive business practices to ensure business growth.
"We want to build the capacity of 300 clients to ensure that they manage their businesses efficiently. We focus on both genders just that, we have a lot of appetite for women.
Our vision is to support women who lack the basic support and knowledge to help them better build their businesses," she said.
The women, after a careful selection process, are paired with established entrepreneurs for coaching on how to run successful businesses through practical teaching approaches.
Some of the beneficiaries spoke to Luv biz news.
"I joined the mentorship programme because I want to learn new skills. I'm hoping to learn more from my mentor," Alexandra a fashion designer said.
Another beneficiary, Mary Baffour, a hairdresser, said "I want to extend my weave-on business, that's why I joined the programme".
