Ghanaian afrobeats artiste Kelvynboy has said that despite the low success of his 'Down Flat' remix, it helped him to establsih a relationship with the featured artistes.
He told Andy Dosty when he appeared on Hitz FM's 'Daybreak Hitz' that he was more concerned about the collaboration than just churning out a hit song.
"I wasn't disappointed [in how the song fared] because I feel like the affiliation and the link up itself is gonna do a lot to the song and to my career than just the hit song. The main song blow already," he said.
He further noted that through the remix he has been able to record other music projects with Nigerian artiste Tekno and British rapper Stefflon Don.
"Now I have other songs with them and it is the 'Down Flat' remix that link-up and they all loved it and they wanted to do it," he added.
He also confirmed that he had other remixes that had Joeboy and another with Mugeez but things did not go as planned so he did not release those versions.
Kelvynboy's 'Down Flat' has been nominated in the Highlife Song, and Most Popular Song of the Year categories of the 24th Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
The original 'Down Flat' song won a lot of spurs when it was released in 2022. In March 2022, it was featured on Billboard World Digital Song Sales Chart. It also made it to the Billboard US Afrobeats Chart and the Billboard Triller Chart.
