The New Patriotic Party (NPP)’s National Youth Organiser, has cautioned the youth not to go into politics for material gains.
Salam Mustapha who took his turn on Joy FM's Personality Profile on Thursday told the host Lexis Bill that “politics is hard work."
"If you go into politics because you want to make money, you’ll be disappointed," he added.
He said it is "A difficult enterprise to venture into and young people should not think it’s a quick fix because it’s not.”
According to him, politics is an enterprise built on sacrifice and therefore one must have the temerity, character, and ability to succeed.
Mustapha said, "He loves politics because it gives him an understanding of human nature and the country in general.”
Born and bred in Tamale among 10 siblings, the NPP National Youth Organiser said he started and completed his primary education in Tamale.
He continued to Tamale SHS, University of Development Studies, and then, to the University of Salford – Manchester, UK.
He’s a Project Management and Development Specialist by profession.
SM as he’s affectionately called, recounted how he got involved in politics.
He revealed that Dr Mustapha Abdul-Hamid, current CEO of the National Petroleum Authority among others played critical roles in his political career.
The once Director of Programmes at the office of the Vice President also spoke fondly of Dr Mahamadu Bawumia describing him as “a warm person whose level of humility he’s yet to see in any humankind again”
Salam Mustapha entreated more young people to join the NPP because it’s a free-spirited pro-youth party.
