Counsellor, Ekow Daniels says women should desist from comparing their relationships to others and trying to copy their style.
Speaking on Joy Prime’s Prime Morning, the General Overseer of Roar Time Ministries said that, in marriage, the couples must find a point of understanding that will help influence their decisions.
“I don’t have to adopt somebody’s system in their marital home, I don’t have to adopt somebody’s style just because it’s working for them.”
“It has to be a system of understanding that works for us, it’s about us, two of you, what is it that can work for the family that both of you can be comfortable with, that none of you will feel used or pressured,” he advised.
The Counselor added that social media has projected so much falsehood that compels people to practice same in their marriages.
“No two marriages are the same.”
“As a counselor, people come to me insulting their wives and husbands and the next minute they’re posting lovely pictures and messages on social media, you’re hurting yourself, you’re not faking to help anybody,” he said.
Speaking on the same show, a creative writer, Prosper Michael Ametu said that, to promote a sustainable relationship/marriage, women should be more vocal with their partners.
He explained that it gets very disturbing when women expect their men to meet their needs yet do not communicate those needs to the men.
“Communication always happens when everybody speaks what’s on their mind, there’s a big issue when women constantly expect you to do things without saying it, and they assume that you know meanwhile you don’t.”
“I can’t read your mind….I think a lot of men my age will appreciate a more vocal partner, at least let’s be vocal indoors, tell me what you want and tell me what your expectations are” he said.
