Osei Kyeretwie Senior High School (OKESS) ‘Ahenemma’ finished top at the 2023 Ashanti Regional Super Zonal, amassing 122 points.
They finished ahead of perennial winners, T.I Ahmadiyya (3rd) and Opoku Aware (2nd). Both finished in 2nd and 3rd respectively.
“We decided that we wanted to make history today,” OKESS captain, Nuhu Adams told Luv Sports.

“We promised our headmaster and some of our coaches that we are going to make it; we knew we would. OKESS, we are soldiers ready for any war. This trophy does not deserve anyone, but us.”
Relinquishing their grip on the boys' division was not T.I Ahmadiyya's only defeat at the Baba Yara Stadium. They were also destooled from their perch on top of the girls’ division.
St. Louis, celebrating their 71st anniversary, emerged champions of the girls’ division with 196 points. It is their first time finishing as division champions, achieving the feat with double joy, after also pushing rivals, Yaa Asantewaa Girls, into the background.
“We have never achieved this feat,” Isaac Owusu Afriyie, sports committee organiser at the school said to Joy Sports.

"From the headmistress, her assistant, the sports committee, students, athletes and staff, all feel great. We owe it to the preparation that was put in; thank God we are through.”
Louis' athletes were received back on campus by singing and dancing (jama).
