Damongo Senior High School has emerged victorious in the Savannah regional qualification of the 2023 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ).
The school beat their contenders Salaga Senior High School, Bole SHS and Ndewura Jakpa SHS to secure the lone slot for the Savannah region at the national tournament.
In what appeared to be an act of revenge against Salaga SHS, the school dominated in all the rounds of the contest.

While they kept extending their lead at each round, the three other schools basked in the pool of single digits.
Damongo SHS proved their dominance to make a remarkable statement as the pride of the Savannah by beating their closest contender, Salaga SHS with a 32-point margin.
Salaga SHS managed to secure 9 points while Bole SHTS succeeded them with 8 points.
But the boys from Ndewura Jakpa could not live up to the values of the founder of the Gonja dynasty as they exited with negative 2 points.
For the students of Damongo SHS, it was a win for the Lands Minister - Samuel Abu Jinapor - in hopes of clinching more laurels for the school and lifting the name of the constituency higher.
