Holy Child Past Students Association Class of 1983 (HOPSA ’83), has donated a newly constructed building to Holy Child Senior High School in Cape Coast. 

The new building, located in the heart of the school is a testament to HOPSA ‘83’s unwavering dedication to supporting the expansion of education infrastructure in the school.

Spanning 49 by 32 feet, the facility is designed as a stand-alone kitchen storage room to support boarding facilities, and enhance the health and welfare of students.

This significant contribution marks a major milestone in their ongoing mission to support the educational institution and create a brighter future for students.

The donation is part of activities to mark the 40th anniversary of the 1983-year group reunion celebrations.

The newly constructed building is a result of the collaborative efforts amongst all members of the year group, the local community, and dedicated partners who share a passion for education.

The project has brought together architects, engineers, and construction professionals to ensure a high-quality structure that meets the needs of the school today and in the years to come.

In a statement issued and signed by the President of the year group, Prudence Danso-Dapaah, he said this remarkable initiative aligns with the year groups vision of empowering students and giving back to society and their Alma mater.

Recognising the critical role good health and welfare in education plays in shaping the lives of young minds, HOPSA ‘83 has undertaken this project to create this storage space where staff can organise stock orderly, in a clean environment.

"We believe that every child deserves access to quality education and a nurturing learning environment. By donating this building, we aim to make a lasting impact on the lives of students and contribute to the overall development of our community,” Ms. Danso-Dapaah said.

The statement added that this initiative represents only one facet of HOPSA ‘83's comprehensive commitment to education. Members remain dedicated to supporting the growth of educational institutions, empowering teachers, and implementing innovative programmes that enhance learning outcomes.

The donation of the new building and high school reunion celebrations starts from 6th to 9th July 2023.

The handing over ceremony of the new building is expected to take place on Saturday 8th July 2023, at the Holy Child Senior High School in Cape Coast followed by a celebratory banquet that evening.

The celebrations will be climaxed with a thanksgiving church service at the school on Sunday 9th July, 2023.
