Parliament in recent times has had to adjourn business of the day on several occasions due to the inability of legislators to form a quorum.
The hiccup started when Minority MPs declared a boycott of parliamentary proceedings to solidarise with their colleagues who are facing criminal trials.
In the course of the week, the caucus retreated on the boycott, but says it will announce a new strategy to escalate the protest.
The new strategy is to continuously raise matters of quorum, literally shutting the House down every time.
Although only 92 MPs were needed to form a quorum, the Majority side could not do this because some of their members were not in the house.
It is on the back of this that, tonight’s edition of The Probe is asking the question “The Hung 8th Parliament: A curse?”
