Assin South MP John Ntim Fordjour has rallied people of African descent in the diaspora to come back home and invest in the industrial and tourism potential of Assinman.
According to him, the huge tourism potential of Assinman needs investments for its development.

At the 25th Anniversary of the annual celebration of Emancipation on Tuesday, August 1 in Assin Manso, Ntim Fordjour said it is imperative that Africans contribute to the development of their countries.
In a subsequent tweet, the lawmaker who doubles as the Deputy Minister of Education remarked reiterated the pain that slavery brought to Africans.

President Akufo-Addo was the Keynote Speaker at this year’s occasion.

The durbar was hosted by Barima Kwame Nkyi XIII the Paramount Chief of Assin Apimanim Traditional Area.
It was a colorful event attended by thousands of people of African descent in America and Caribbeans as well as many dignitaries and local residents.

Dozens of paramount chiefs and traditional rulers came in full celebration of culture and tradition.
The occasion marks nearly 190 years since the outlawing of the slave trade by the British Parliament in all British colonies.
